The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has marked a major milestone in its educational transformation with the successful conclusion of the International Education Exhibition (EDGEx), held from April 13–16, 2025 (15–18 Shawwal 1446H). Organized by the Ministry of Education, the landmark event brought together global education leaders, technology innovators, and policymakers under the forward-looking theme "Beyond Readiness."
Over four days, EDGEx created a dynamic platform for strengthening international partnerships and unveiling innovative educational technologies. Focused on integration, the exhibition bridged the fields of education and training, promoting collaboration among educational institutions, tech companies, and decision-makers. The event underscored the Kingdom’s dedication to educational development, digital transformation, and human capability enhancement in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
EDGEx 2025 featured a wide array of immersive experiences, including specialized workshops, expert-led discussion sessions, and live demonstrations of advanced educational technologies. Key platforms included "The EDGE Assembly", focusing on the future of education; "The EDGE Lab", offering hands-on interaction with innovative tools; and "The EDGE Launchpad", which facilitated strategic partnerships between educational and technological institutions to drive sustainable development.
The exhibition welcomed a distinguished lineup of speakers and participants, including His Excellency Minister Youssef Al-Bunyan; Professor Abdullah Al-Ghamdi, President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA); Andrew Ng, founder of DeepLearning.AI; and Sal Khan, founder of Khan Academy. Experts from Stanford University, KAUST, and leading global educational institutions also joined the discussions, enriching the event with diverse perspectives and thought leadership.
A highlight of the event was the EDGEx Awards, celebrating excellence and innovation in education. Honorees included recipients of the Voices of Change Award, which recognized transformative educational initiatives; the EDGEx Vendor Award, selected by students and teachers for outstanding educational technology innovation; and the Classroom Innovator Award, honoring institutions that have pioneered modern curricula and empowered teachers to reimagine the learning experience.
With EDGEx 2025, Saudi Arabia has reaffirmed its commitment to building an inclusive, future-ready educational ecosystem that meets the evolving needs of learners worldwide.
